In the United States, our National Parks really are our greatest treasures. The protection of areas as National Parks started in 1872 when Yellowstone National Park was formed. Since then, we’ve added 62 other National Parks and 360 additional areas of national, historical, cultural or natural interest to the National Park System. In my life I’ve been fortunate to have visited 56 of our National Parks and well over 300 units of the system. On this page I hope to share some of my favorite images from those visits. In the first section below you’ll find links to some of the full park-specific galleries that I’ve published in the past. Below those are some of my very favorite images of our National Park System. There’s probably a National Park unit near you - visit the Park Service’s website here, and search by state from there. I hope you enjoy these photos from some of our country’s most beautiful places.
