Welcome to Miles 2 Go! My name is Michael Harding and I am really glad you stopped by. Miles 2 Go is the hub of my current journey - a slow-travel, multi-year adventure around the United States. I hope to spend at least a month in each state and chronicle my travels here, using photography, blog posts, podcasts and video to bring you along for the ride.

I have spent the majority of my adult life guiding multi-week adventure and sightseeing tours of North America. I have traveled extensively from San Diego to Nova Scotia and Key West to Fairbanks and it has been an amazing adventure. Guiding tours is so much more than just a job - it is a nomadic lifestyle combining never-ending adventures with a kaleidoscope of people in ever changing and always inspiring surroundings. And it would be hard to love a job more, despite the grueling schedule and never having a place to hang your hat. It is a big responsibility being in charge of peoples' hard earned vacation time, and not something I took lightly. I could do it forever, but sometimes it's important to step back and see what else is out there.

In addition, there is so much of America to see, and so much, quite frankly that I haven't seen despite the half million miles or so I've logged on the road. Tours are an amazing way to see the country, any country, but they are always, by their very nature, limited by a time frame and a schedule. So I've been saving my dollars and cents for a lot of years now and now it's time to take some time off and get out there into the thick of things and see what I can find. And I would love it if you chose to come with me.

So this site is where it all comes together. It is different from so many others because it will be from the perspective of a tour guide, someone who has spent a lifetime on the road exploring and already knows the beaten track like the back of my hand. And yet I feel as if I've only just begun. The track is beaten for a reason, but now it's time to get off of it and check out the little places - the state parks and small towns that so often get overlooked by people barreling across the country. So come on inside and let's get going...
